The highlight of our St. Petersburg trip was a visit to the Hermitage Museum, the breathtaking palace which once served as the residence and Winter Palace of the Russian emperors until the 1917 revolution, which saw it transformed into the magnificent museum it is today.
It houses all forms of art from prehistoric and Egyptian antiquities, to the famous Czars' costumes, to paintings by Rembrandt, Matisse, and Van Gogh.

The Museum also hosted the famous Al-Sabah Collection of Islamic Art and Mughal jewels of India back in 2009.
We can't wait to visit again!
Until then, we'll be inspired this Fall by the rich fabrics of Russian fashion!
