Salah Taher

Salah Taher remains as one of the most prolific artists of Egypt and the greater Middle East. Among his many posts and appointments, he was head of Cairo's Modern Art Museum, supervisor of the Luxor Atelier, and director of the Cairo Opera House in the 1960's. He is also the only Arab artist to have his work displayed on the walls of the White House (bought by then-president Richard Nixon).

We especially love his signature fluidly mysterious female figures...
